Some of my files I guess still have DRM attached to them, and Winamp won't let me play them even though I download a license (or at least try. It kicks me out.)

Anybody know of a good one that works well and is preferably free?

I've got a bunch of music I had originally ripped into Windows Media Player, as well as some music from friends who've burned me CD's with iTunes, and now neither of these types of files will play with WMP or Winamp. The reason being, I'm pretty sure, is the DRM attached to them, and since I can't get a license for it (WMP won't download one for me, for whatever reason) I guess I'll just strip them off.

iTunes is notorious for selling you music that can't be used with any other player. Personally I don't have a problem with this thread and will answer when Dave gives the all clear (or not)

Thanks for the help, but the problem with that is I don't have iTunes on my computer (so it goes through the search continually and doesn't find anything) so I seem to be unable to use that one.

Unless you have instructions for me?

Never used it and the only other things I know about are not allowed on the forums because they deal with cracks and so forth. Wouldn't be safe anyway so I wouldn't advise it.

Have you tried installing something like VLC Media Player
to see if it will play the songs?

The main thing about using Winamp though was that i could control it through my G15, it worked well on my old one.

If I can just get that freaking license I could play them but WMP doesnt want me to have it.
