Hi everybody, I have a problem installing Sigmatel driver in a WinXPpro SP2 image (wich I fear, has gone under some kind of post-install customization). Have already installed KB888111. Apparently it installs successfully the Microsoft UAA), but the HD sound device ( a Sigmatel HD Audio onboard sound card in a Intel D945gmt motherboard) is not being detected, nor are any "Enum\HDAUDIO" branches created in registry after the KB installation.
I know it is not a hardware failure of the sound card, as it gets detected and works properly when I use it on a "clean" XPpro SP2 and I am suspecting now that it may be more related to the KB888111 installation or to the Sigmatel card detection / enumeration, as it doesn´t even detect the sound device in the "customized" image after KB888111 install. I have spent many days trying to solve this and have searched in many forums but I am running out of ideas now :sigh:... I would appreciate any kind of help or hints you could give me to fix it or at least to get a better understanding of what may be interfering with the detection... Thanks in advance for your help  |
