Default iTunes problem

hi there i got a problem, i wanted to use backwards versions of iTunes (acidentally upgraded to the newest which i hate to use).i uninstalled the new version and tried to install the old one .but when i press iTunes said can not be opened because i had a newer version installed b4...how can slove this issue? deleting the registry???
Please can i have a step by step advice as i am quite stupid with computers

Try re-installing it again.

Also try re-installing Apple Quicktime on it's own.

sorry dave....it still doesnt work...it says cannot read coz newer version was installed in the past.. i have uninstalled QT+iTunes n installed again ..but doesnt work:(

By the sounds of it your more up-to-date version is leaving traces behind, which are being picked up on by the older version you are trying to install.

Try googling it to see if you get any luck there, I've digged out this site if you want to try it:
