I have a problem with my motherboard soundcard. it's an AC97 and has problems playing the sound on video files. When I play MP3s it's alright but when I play a video the sound is all choppy and very annoying. This also happens with certain games. I'm running windows xp pro with all updates. I have bought another sound card and I get the same problem so I uninstall it and tried to fix the main sound card. I don't know what to do and everything is up to date so I don't see why it shouldn't work. I even upgraded to the Windows media player 11. Help someone!!!

Hi FamicomFreak

I will try and help you with your sound problems.

First I need a bit more information.

Is this an old problem or has it only just started? Have you ever been able to play videos and have good sound?

I am sure that there must be something else wrong because there is no reason why your computer shouldn't be able to play videos. The specs are not great but are more than adequate.

AHHH thanks for your help but I was able to fix it. The problem weren't the drivers but the codecs used to play the videos. Oh man it's the first time ever I have heard nice clear sound while playing a video on this PC. Now my PC is complete at last!!!!
