I did a reboot on my laptop today, all went well but when re-loading Media Player 11 it now dosent want to show a picture when playing an .avi file, I get sound though! Tried a fresh download but no difference? Im getting no more updates downloaded so dubious its just a codec issue when my desk top happily plays the same .avi file on MP11????

Install a codec pack for WMP or download a player that has them all already like VLC.

Because the desktop has codecs (the software to decode the avi format) and the laptop doesn't.
