Default No Sound After Reformat

After reformatting my computer with Windows XP I have no sound. My default audio device is SB Audigy Audio and Windows says everything is fine.

It's not just sound either when I connect my speakers to the computer, the speakers work fine I tested them, there is no fuzz background noise that if you lean close you can hear even when there is no audio playing.

I'm not sure if that means that my computer might have gotten damaged when I transported it from my house to my friends to work on reformatting it. Any possible reasons this could be happening and solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Default No Sound After Reformat

This is not ment to offend but I have come across people who just had their sound muted or turned way down low. Or the speakers plugged into the microphone whole. Make sure all of those are correct. Then make sure the drivers are correct. After that there is no reason that they should fail except for maybe a loose connection. Also if you are using a desktop and are using like a front speaker jack then maybe the connection got loose inside the computer check to make sure those are all connected or are using a jack that is directly on the motherboard. Another issue is that the drivers you have installed for the device are not actually for that device. Make sure that the drivers and the actual device match
