My sister has recently moved to uni and took my mums laptop with her. She doesn't have internet access and therefore wanted to watch a DVD and it would not play on WMP or the programme Interlink DVD or something which I believe was preinstalled. Anyway she found a video on the laptop and tried to play that which it did, but there was no sound. I told her to go into device manager and it says the device is working properly.

Anyway suggestions people? I'd really like to help get this sorted.

Thanks for your help

Sorry why was this moved? Its a sound problem... or is it because the likely cause is the driver?

if the device manager says its working fine then it shouldnt be driver related. have ou gone through the control panel etc making sure it is not muted

We have two main PC sections.

Hardware and software.

As your physical hardware is present it is not a hardware issue and thus was moved to the drivers forum in the software section.
