i have a perfect sub, works for music and games fine!

there is something i have noticed however, when ever im on a steam game menu, such as TF2 or CSS main menu i got sub fine, once i connect to a server it turns off, ive played media player in the background and the sub on the music also turns off

however on BF2142, if i connect to a server with a headset icon next to it, the sub will turn off, but if there is no headset icon next to it the sub stays on,

i posted this awhile ago, but i knew less plus i can never find anything and i mean anything in my search, so for that i apologize Dave, however this thread, im asking something different (but Yeh i cant find anything in my search at all, perhaps its just me)

so ive summed up it ain't my card which is a cmedia 8738 (still awaiting vista drivers) as it works in bf2142 and a few over online games on certain servers.

it didn't even work on any half life series NOT online, once i load up its gone

steam DOES pick up the sub in the speaker test so im confused

would a better soundcard be a solution as this was a low low low end card (£8)

p.s once again sorry for a repost ive even tried searching for stupidly common words and i get nothing

u can get a really cheap creative card from www.ebuyer.com and it might solve the problem.
I also have vista and had problems with all cmedia drivers but bought a soundblaster SE now works fine
