Default Photo retouching/editing software?

I am starting to get into photo editing and retouching. I am wondering some good software that even lets you slim down the models. Something that does it all. anyone know any good programs?Something that is also easy to use...

Photoshop (which is being updated at the end of the month with the release of CS3, I think) is the gold standard. You can do just about anything with it. It can be overwhelming if you've never used it, so if you can't find a class to learn how (at a local college, library, or even sometimes museums), I recommend the Classroom in a Book series (they make them for all the CS2 programs, and I imagine will update them for CS3). I've used Photoshop Elements a few times and it does most of the basic things the full version of Photoshop does for a lot cheaper. I'd say you should find a friend who has each and try them both out to see which will suit your needs more.

I run a little business that can allow you to get the Photo Shop for much cheaper than you would get it at a store, lol this is no scam, if you really are interested email me at mustafar1391@yahoo.com. The regular for a good version of photo shop can run you about 400 and up, i will sell it to you for cheaper, take care
