Ever since i got a new mobo, i've been having sound problems. The sound works just fine on WMP or in a game but once i try to view videos or play games through an internet browser my sound doesnt work for that particular thing. I've tried with both IE and Mozilla Firefox but still no sound. According to my sounds and audio devices menu i have realtek AC97 audio as my output player. i've already tried downloading new drivers and trying to switch the devices that play the output.

You could try opening up the audio mixer by double clicking the little speaker icon in the little taskbar icon bank thing (forget what it's called). Then increase the volume for the specific thing you want sound on eg. your browser or minimised game. There'll be individual bars for each program you have open that outputs sound. Oh and welcome to the forums by the way.

No luck. Any sound besides my windows media player and my game does not work. The program "Wavepad" which is a sound editing program doesnt work either so its not just a browser thing.
