My Sony DVD RW dw-q30a won't play DVD's and I can't seem to play movies in most formats either. Can anyone tell me if it is a driver or software that I need? CHEERS

Sounds like a codec issue, codec are bits of software that decode the movies.

And you get that message when playing a genuine DVD, on a disc?

You're welcome. Sounds like the compilation was burned funny.
