Default sound problem

i recently re-booted my computer with vista but since that no sound comes out! and were the sound icon is there is a white x as if on mute, and it says no audio output device is installed, were as on device manager it says Codec is working properly!!

Default sound problem

One of the discs that came with your PC will be labeled 'Drivers' or 'Resource CD' or similar.

On there will be sound card drivers.
