Default .vcm?? how to play/open?

Hey,
I have recently downloaded what I thought was some video files however the files are .vcm files. I have done a little research and have found out that vcm means video compression manager. But I still have no idea how I can open these videos. I downloaded some codec which did nothing, still couldn't open them in any media player.
So what I am asking is can anyone tell me how to play these files or uncompress them? Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks

PS. I'm running on windows xp home edition
