Hi,
I'm a new member here. i got one heck of a problem i cant seem to solve. ok here it is

my machine is a amd athlon 64 3200, has 1.2 gb of Ram, i use an asus A8V VM SE motherboard, it has a via chipset i guess. Xp runs fine, when i upgraded to Vista ultimate i have one big problem.
The motherboard uses realtek as its primary sound driver. but after installing the driver and rebooting the sound disappears. i get an error saying no HD audio device. I asked a pal who is into hardware and he says its a problem with the assignment of the IRQ. i got 2 PCI xpress slots, one has a Nvidia 8500gt 512mb card and the other is free. the PCI slots are also not uses.
Can some one please tell me which IRQ i should change in the BIOS setup ???

Are you 100% sure you are installing the correct sound driver?

99% of the time you should not have to change IRQ settings.
