I have recently bought a webcam to use with my laptop one that clips over the top of the screen. Its by Logitech a small one with bulit in mic it was working great until yesterday. The picture is blurry and not as clear as it has been.I have played around woth the settings but its no different.
Could it be that there is a fault with the cam itself? How can i diagnose the problem?

What model is it?

What operating system are you using?

What program are you looking at the picture with?

Has someone twisted the focus ring round the lens? Is the lens clean?

here's a short explanation, logitech sucks really bad, no disrespect to you but its cheap, I've had a wireless mouse and keyboard a usb webcam ,and speakers from logitech the cam has always been blurry and everything is to orange, I've tried resetting the hue/sat , my mouse/keyboard stopped working in just over 6 months, I've replaced them with yet another logitech wired mouse/keyboard and that didn't even work from the beginning so I'm on the keyboard/mouse that came with my pc, the speakers blew after a year from no fault of my own i barely listened to music then so get a refund and buy a better cam mate if you can.

You know, she actually says "it was working great until yesterday". To come out with "sucks really bad" about a £1bn a year turnover company employing 8000 people doesn't actually convey a lot of information. Mind you, from a CEO of another company with a £1bn a year turnover company employing 8000 people I'd pay startled attention but that's not quite what I'm hearing. No disrespect to you but lots of people get lots of good use out of lots of their products.

Hey can't believe it was so simple ,the focus ring had been moved i thought that the pic could only be adjusted in the settings option, its working as normal. The reason I went with Logitech is because we use the same brand on our other pc for 5-6 years and that ones still going strong so it made sense to stick with this make. Thanks everyone for your help and advice.

It's like that scene from Peter Pan where we all have to shout out that we believe in fairies and then the Webcam works again. I quite like that.
