Default Winavi sound and video out of synch

I have used the registered version of Winavi for several years now, with no problems. I recently uninstalled it, and have now installed it again. I have installed the K Lite codecs, and Divx codecs as the website instructs, however, every avi I convert, then burn has the sound completely out of synch with the video.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything, but the problem is still the same.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?
Thanks
