| Hi, On my mum's computer, Windows media player 11 won't start. I've tried reinstalling, uninstalling with revo, rolling back and using an old version, but it won't start. No error message, nothing. In taskmanager, it goes up to 20mb ram usage, then it disappears. Other media players work, it's just Windows media player that doesn't... Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

| maybe a firewall issue mate, add to exceptions as it maybe seeing it as a threat |

| Windows firewall already has an exception, but avast! has no firewall for that, so I don't think that's the problem.

| No I didn't find a solution, but a workaround. I installed VLC media player and made it the default player for everything. I find it works better than Windows Media Player.
