I dont use it very often so I dont really know why or when it stopped working, but every time I try to play a video file, in whatever format, I only get sound. I have tried to convert files before playing but nothing plays. I deleted and then re-installed WMP but still nothing. Any ideas anyone?
Cheers guys

when you play the movies, in the playlist on the side, is there a red and white cross next to the movie?

ok, so when you next play a video, click that and a dialoge box should appear saying something like "windows media player has encountered an error" with two buttons you can press, one being "close" the other "web help" click the web help, that should tell you what the problem is and possibly how to fix it. Also if you post what it says here, then we can view it and tell you how to fix it if that page doesn't say how to.

OK the cross is red but when you click it it just asks you to drag your selected item over to create a playlist. It doesnt do anything else

oh, wasn't meaning that one, that one removes all items from the play list. I was meaning does a little red and white cross appear to the left of the indervidual tracks.
