Windows movie maker importing trouble

sorry
basically if I use any other video editing/movie making program will I get the same problems? If I won't then, any suggestions on programs I can download... thank you again

Well you could try Pinnacle's Videospin, it's a free program (not as many features as studio) and does about the same as movie maker (possibly more) and can provide you an idea to if it will work on another program. I will warn you though, pinnacle are well know (atleast everyone i know of that's used it) for being unreliable, so make sure you save as much as possible, as it crashes at un expected times.

ah i tried video spin but we didn't get along... back to the crashing movie maker lol

Look at this site:

Click on Problem Solving on the left hand side.

Click on Crashes and Hangs

Read through it and do as it suggests. I still think it is a codec problem.
