when i play songs on wmp they play fine but about 20 seconds or so from the end it stops and 'judders' for about 3 or 4 seconds then plays the rest of the song fine. any idea what to do? ive tried changing the settings about loading certain amout of song before they play or whatever it is but it doesnt seem to change

Is it set to cross-fade into the next song? If so try turning that off.

how do i get to that in the options? i havnt turned it on so it is how it was to begin with but i will check it anyway, if i can find how to get to it

no the mouse is fine it seems to be something to do with the program. other programs run fine while it is stuttering

hhhmmm my next guess would be download some codecs

I am guessing you are on vista. My sister had the same problem on her laptop. You have to disable the enhancements.
Sart-->Control Panel-->Hardware and Sound-->Sound-->Playback(tab)-->Speakers-->Properties-->Enhancements--> then click Disable all enhancements. That should do it for ya. Also if that doesn't work (which I am pretty sure it should) then try updating your audio drivers. |

It would be best to try a re-installation as this will set everything back to default.
