I have been asked by a friend to find out what's causing him to have a browser problem on his WiFi connection.
He can download E-Mails & update all his protection software no problem, but when he starts either Internet explorer 7 or Mozilla Firefox he cannot get a web page up ? ![]() He is using: Packard Bell (Easynote) Laptop Running Windows XP Belkin Router (ADSL2 Modem with Wireless G-Router) Also running Norton Internet Security 200 Also His other family members are having no problems with their Laptop Connections to the same router. SORRY, I have not seen the system in action, so info is I know limited... I thought it maybe a Firewall Prob?? Any ideas would be Brill as I'm seeing him this weekend. Cheers

Create another account on the laptop and see if that has the same problems
The firewall should log all blocked attempts The router web page (192.168.1.1 probably) will also log any blocked/failed attempts Check that in IE under Tools Internet Options the correct connection is used, ie, direct connection to the internet.

Have they accidentally set a proxy in the web browsers properties.
