I prefer to use Firefox. But it will no longer open the window to upload photos to ANY internet site.

Reluctantly I turned to IE, despite it previously being the portal to viruses which destroyed 2 PCs. This time, when I click upload on any site it reports:
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet. connection is good!
The website is encountering problems.not for any other user!
There might be a typing error in the address. I am operating from within the sites I have already accessed!
What you can try:
Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected.connection is good!
Retype the address. irrelevant!
Go back to the previous page. it just times out!
More information
This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:
Internet connectivity has been lost. Nope!
The website is temporarily unavailable. Nope!
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable. What does this mean?
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain. and this?
If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section. they sure are!

My OS is Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002; Service Pack 2. Intel (R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz; 1.00GB of RAM.
I am running Norton 360, Ad-Aware, SpyBot and SpywareBlaster. But I very temporarily disabled all of them plus Windows Firewall and still could not upload.. So it is not a Firewallissue.

So what is it please? Why can't I upload photos?

No Chees! It is:- Facebook, Multiply, Flickr, MySpace, Frappr, Faceparty, MeetUp, Geocities Fff-file manager etc. So that'll be every site then!

So many "F"s! Sigh! :-(

Maybe I have some infection despite Norton, Spybot, Ad-aware, Spyqare Blaster et al running continuously. Is that likely?
Or is it some kind of Java / Flash / ActiveX problem? What is it that makes the browsers open up ther uploading pages?

Go HERE and start a new thread and post a Hijackthis log so I can take a look.
Download and rename HijackThis (HJT)
  • Double-click on HJTInstall.
  • Click on the Install button.
  • It will automatically place HJT in C:\Program Files\TrendMicro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe.
  • Upon install, HijackThis should open for you.
    • Close HijackThis and rename it.
    • Go to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.exe
    • Right click on HijackThis.exe and select Rename.
    • Type in sniper.exe and press Enter.
    • Right-click on sniper.exe and select Send To > Desktop (create shortcut)
  • From the desktop open HiajckThis.
  • If using Windows Vista, be sure to Run As Administrator
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button
  • HijackThis will scan and then a log will open in notepad.
  • Copy and then paste the entire contents of the log in your post.
    • Do not have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
Even though we have renamed HijackThis to sniper, we will still refer to it as HijackThis or HJT.

Post it in the Security forum.
