What exactly are you meaning? Are you wanting to know how to make a shortcut to a specific website to put on your desktop etc?

what I mean is, if for example you go to yahoo and select create a shortcut on your desktop when you go to the desktop you have the blue internet explorer icon not the yahoo shortcut icon.

Yea, because you are putting the site into your favorites, this is a menu at the top of the screen, not a shortcut to put elsewhere on your computer. If you want to do this, what you need to do is: right click when you want the shortcut>click new>shortcut>type the web address>click next>type in the name you want to give it>finish. There, you have a shortcut to the webpage.

No, I think what he means he wants the Yahoo logo as the icon of the shortcut, not the IE logo.

If I'm right, what you need to do is save the Yahoo image somewhere on your PC, then right click the shortcut got to properties then change icon.

Then just select the file you want.

I think Ive cracked it, first i add favicon.ico to the address bar ie http://uk.yahoo.com/favicon.ico this brings up the yahoo (red y) icon, then right click on the icon and select (save picture as).Select a picture folder and save the icon,Ive found it easier to put each icon in its own folder(new folder1, new folder2 etc) this stops the icons changing when you try to apply them. Next go to the desktop select yahoo, which has the blue internet explorer logo and right click then select properties, select change icon and browse. Then select the folder you put the icon in and open the folder then click on the icon then go through the menus and apply, should change icon on the desktop to the yahoo logo. I dont know if there is a quicker way to do this?

Nope, thats all I meant to do.

It shouldn't change without you telling it to though. Try having just one folder for all your custom ones, and keep the Windows ones where they are.
