Hi guys & gals

Just last night i noticed this happening. I was dling some stuff files ,i usually hav ethem dl to a folder on my desktop ,after they completre dling and i check inside folder ,they are not there.

I tried a search and did not show any traces of such file on my computer

I have tried downloading onto desktop and few other places, but it just wont give me the file anywhere at all.

Any clues as to whats causing this, maybe some box not ticked in web browser settinngs internet settings ?

I use IE7

I often clean out computer with CCcleaner which used to mess up a few settings ,but since there new release, they have fixed that bug.

I was getting files dled ok before this happened, then all of a sudden ,they dont show anymore

Any thoughts be much appreciated

kind regards

Ozzie

Hmm, well this is very strange, i've never heard of it happening before. What I would do is try downloading something else and make sure you know where it says it's downloading to, then go there (or click open folder or open file once downloaded) and check it's there, also try showing hidden files and folders incase IE hid them for some reason. if that fails, try using another browser to see if that lets you download something.

Thanks for reply Thingie

Yep i did try dling other stuff, but same result. I did not try using another browser, will give that ago tonight, ty for tip.

I tried looking under hidden files, but no luck there either. Its like the dl bar reaches 100% then normally the icon or zip file would appear on desktop, well mines doesnt appear at all or anywhere

If it does dl with another browser, would that mean its browser related and if it still happens with a different browser, what could have happened? am same as yourself, i have never had this happen or even heard of it happening before.

Regards

Ozzie

It is extremely unlikely to happen with another browser as the mechanism will be different.

You could try repairing IE7 if you haven't already.

Also I just thought, have you got full admin rights of that PC? as it could be your permissions preventing you from downloading things if your not an admin.

Hi Mike & Thingie

Yep i have full admin rights ,tried another browser and sure enough ,worked a treat

Now able to dl ,am still left with an IE that cant dl ,not a major issue, but still love to know the cause of IE not being able to download.

I have feeling it was CCleaner that caused the problem ,i cant think of anything else that would have caused it.

Thanks for help guys

regards

Reinstall IE and see if that helps.

Great stuff! I use CCleaner regularly but haven't had this happen. Mind you, several other regclean type programs have messed up before...

Yep CCleaner is nice we tool, like very much too, if it did mess settings up am still in doubt of that, maybe just one of those things happen from time to time and just gotta deal with it hehe.

Still dling ok, so what ever it was is gone now

Ive had reg cleaners in the past that would delete my modem drivers and what not, complete mess, but must say CCcleaner is very nice

have good day Mike
