I just switched to IE8 and the chinese characterers on tw.yahoo.com won't play anymore. I have tried encoding and others.

okay.. download from a different pc a web browser i.e forefox to start with.. this will override your chinese IE8. now use windows update.

You might need to use the IE8 Compatibility View on certain pages.
