I can't view Chinese characters on my browser (they appear as symbols and small boxes with numbers in them).

I attempted to fix the problem through Control Panel --> Regional / Language Options --> Languages --> Install Files for East Asian Languages

Unfortunately, after I put the Windows XP disk in, it says it can't copy the files. I don't know if something is wrong with my hard drive (it's old and has had a hard life =) or if the disk is damaged, but I don't have another one.

Is there another way to do this? I have access to another computer if there are files I can download and transfer from there.

Thanks!

I had a problem with this before. Go to the language options in control panel again, and do the same thing you did before. All the language files are either in the I386 folder, or the I386\LANG folder. If not, keep changing folders each time it says it can't find the file. i.e. if you select I386 as the folder, it might copy some files, then it will say file not found, then switch to I386\LANG. It's frustrating and takes time, but it should work.
