Default Firefox - No Sound?

Okay so I'm doing my brother a favor and I'm gonna try to fix this for him.

Firefox on his computer doesn't play any sounds when he's on webpages and stuff. He says he thinks it's because he deleted System 32 when he did a virus scan.

Any advice?

If he didn't have system32 he wouldn't be able to run windows would he? When you say he has no sound, do you mean if he opens a video or something like that there is no sound, or do you mean there are none of the dings and so on that some folks have on their computer? I have none of those because I turned them of in windows...........
