Default In Firefox - randomly replacing other characters?

Mostly I notice replacing characters like apostrophes, sometimes they seem to be randomly inserted in between letters. It doesn't seem to be a problem with a specific font because copying the text and changing the font doesn't fix it. The only place I've noticed this is in Firefox. Sorry I can't describe it better but I'm hoping someone else might recognize this problem and help me fix it.I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.3

You are missing at least 1 "plug-in".

I use Firefox and have never seen this problem. I haven't upgraded to 2.x, though. Is that version still buggy?

It runs perfectly for me, but the main problem here may be that your regional language is not set correctly.
Have a look at the shot below and compare your settings.
