Default Firefox Slow!

I've been using Firefox for months now and I recently uninstalled it because I had it tweaked. Now after I installed it it goes really slow and some pages won't even show up anymore like my email and I know that it's not because of my dial up because before it worked completely fine and now even Internet Explorer works better. What the hell happened and how do I get it back to normal?

Why don't you install the older version of Firefox, that is what I had to do, and it works fine. The new versions are meant for Vista and I don't think they work on XP or before. Or if you go to there site they have older versions.

Default Firefox Slow!

Its possible some spyware or viruses could be affecting the speed of your PC.

However well meant the above statement may be it is quite incorrect.

The latest version, (as of writing) is 2.0.0.3 and works perfectly well on XP.
I would heed what Dave has to say and perhaps consult what is in your Start Up list along with running AdAware and Spybot (Search and Destroy)
To compare what should and should not be in the Start Up list go to Sysinfo.

When did you last do a disk clean up, virus scan, and defrag? I have to do a disk clean up pretty often since I am online all the time. If you work with alot of images you might load them to a rewritable cd to free up more space as well.
