Default Firefox slow on certain sites

My firefox has had this problem for a long time, whenever I login to sites like ebay.com or aol.com it will stall for a little bit before it logs in, and for my aol mail it stalls before every single mail I check. Internet Explorer doesn't have that problem for me.

Anyone knows what that might be? I've already had someone help me with my computer's slowness, but my firefox has been doing this before my computer started to go slow.

Help appreciated.

internet explorer and mozilla are two completely different programs with very different programming behind them. i wouldn't expect them to be the same at all.

but at any rate. i think this might be related to traffic. on certain websites, with so many people logged on at the same time, the server may lag. so signing in, or even loading the dang page can take up to 20 minutes if it gets extremely bad.

i'm not even sure if there's anything you can do about it. it's just one of those love-hate relationships i guess. either stick with IE so you don't get that lag, or go with mozilla and just deal with it i guess.

Add-ons can slow down firefox.

Do you have multiple installed that you don't use?

You are a genius, I don't even know what Google Toolbar does but I have it as an addon and I just uninstalled it and everythings back to normal. Thanks!!
