| When I try for example to save the icon of google the nice g in colors on my desktop all I get is the ogly "e" , it happens with other web pages even this one I can not put the nice lcd monitor that this web site has for icon , the web pages come as they should but my desktop is full of "e"s and the regulars windows xp icons is there a way i can resolve this. Thanks in advance. |

| Either it's in the website's root directory and called favicon.ico (that's the default) in which case you can pick it up and save it, or it's at the URL pointed to (in the webpage's Page Source) by

| Your problem seems to be (I'm guessing, I don't have a Windows 2000 computer using Internet Explorer to check with) that nobody else can replicate your problem. People browsing to a website using page title icons see them in the URL window and on bookmarks. You're not, presumably, trying to say the technique doesn't display for other people with the same software. You could try finding a vanilla Windows 2000 / Internet Explorer install to check that it displays them. Assuming it does, you could make your computer resemble the vanilla install. That's quite likely to involve reinstalling. Microsoft no longer support or patch Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT or Windows 2000. The reason isn't purely financial. You're not, presumably, running a museum. |
