...from loading? whenever i get on the internet i get pages loading that i didn't ask for whenever i try to link to another page (just now i had a page come up when i went to this page) it's not pop ups, but the whole page just went to high speed from dial up and never had this happen before i'm sure i need to set something but don't know what or how

Sounds like a spyware/adware browser infection. Get yourself a copy of Spy Sweeper and run some scans. www.webroot.com

Check for spyware or adware! Try Lavasoft's AdAware..it's one of the best free adware detectors out there. Do a system scan. This is most probably the problem. Then scan your PC for viruses. Get AVG Antivirus for that, just to make sure.
