The IE browser is a Windows Component. Remove it through the Add/Remove programs you're familiar with, but click the Windows Component button to uncheck it. This doesn't remove the program, but deactivates it so you don't know it's there. For grins, I'll tell the community that a user can change the heading "Windows Internet Explorer Provided by Yahoo" from the title bar (or whatever your IE title bar reads,) by searching for and editing the corresponding entry in the Windows registery.

There's no easy way to uninstall internet explorer. It's too deeply ingrained into Windows, and if you DO remove it, you can cause all sorts of problems. Not a good idea."Windows Internet Explorer Provided by Yahoo" is not really a different program than regular old IE, they just made a change to the windows registry to change the name of the window. So if that's what you're concerned about, there's no need to be. If you really want to change it, you can open the program regedit from the run window on the start menu. Search through it for a key with that text in it, and change it to whatever you want it to be. But be EXTREMELY careful, as regedit has the ability to REALLY mess up your system if you're not careful.

Is this an update to internet explorer? is so the way to uninstall it, you have to go back into the control panel but this time when the window opens look at the top right there should be a small square that says to show updates click it. this will show you all the updates it might be in there.. good luck
