Default IE & Firefox acting weird..

hello.
so i switch off occasionally using internet explorer 7 and mozilla 2
but in the last week or week and a half, there has been a problem that seems to just keep going..

the problem is:
when i try to attempt to connect to any sites, mozilla displays "server not found" and when i attempt to reach www.google.com, it simply directs me to the Spanish google site and even when i change the preferences it does the same.
I also cannot update my AVG ever since the internet problem came up and am starting to worry if it will not affect any of my other internet-related works.

when i refresh or re-enter the website, the site comes up with no problems, but it's just getting way too tedious and confusing with my "location" being at Spain (according to my location suggested by speedtest.net)

does anyone know why or how to fix this problem? thank you . [:
