hi there,
i was running IE6 without any problems, and decided to take the plunge and upgrade my win XP system to IE8 (stupid, stupid). at first IE8 worked fine, but after a random crash, it has since refused to right click. here are the solutions ive tried without any luck: - disabled all add-ons - disabled antivirus & antispyware - Reset Windows security settings back to the defaults - reinstalled IE8 - uninstalled IE8 & reverted to IE6 nothing works, i have not been able to right click since the fateful IE8 upgrade. i think that malware/ spyware is unlikely because: - PC has had Norton Internet Security on constantly - everything was working perfect prior to upgrade - i had only managed to browse a couple of sites on Ie8 before the crash, and they were yahoo/cnn type places here's the weirdest part of the problem. if i right click on start->programs->internet explorer and select "run as ... Administrator", IE opens fine and the right click functionality works just fine! any help will be much appreciated, thx! |

It could be an issue with an incompatible add on ... if you have addons installed, try disabling them and see if this helps.

Also some 3rd party Anti Virus Programs can cause problems. If you didn't disable your AV Program when installing IE8, you may have a corrupted instalation/registry. My System: Home Build
