Sorry if this is in the wrong section...

When I boot my laptop up, wireless is connected and I can get onto MSN no problem. However, when I open internet explorer it opens but nothing loads. When I restart my laptop, it all works fine.

Anybody know what's up here?

I have an Acer Aspire 5050 laptop with Windows Vista.

Cheers.

That's awkward. Are you using the latest version of IE (which would be IE7 or IE8 if you want beta)? If not, try upgrading to that. If you are already using the latest version, try reinstalling it.

The other computer connected to my router doesn't have the problem, nor did my old laptop.

It doesn't happen everyday. Today it worked as usual when I booted my laptop.

I open IE and there's a blank white page with the loading bar at the bottom going slowly, and nothing loads.

My email address is hotmail, so I can't actually get onto my emails until I restart.

My home page is set as MSN.co.uk

I downloaded Firefox but I encountered the same problem =(

It's happening everyday now, it's driving me up the wall. Sometimes I even sometimes have to restart the laptop twice.

I expect it might be malware related.

Go to the Virus, Spyware & Security Forum

Do everything in the first post in this post.

Then start a new thread in that forum and post the Hijack This log you created. Say you are having this problem and link back if possible.

Someone will look over it and suggest a course of action.
