Default msn and firefox

I had this problem for a while.

But the problem is I have no idea how I fixed it LOL

Just started working one day. I think it was after I downloaded Windows Live Mail Beta.

But now whenever I click a link in an email in Windows Live Mail I get a message that IE was unable to open the website but then Firefox opens it fine.

Very strange but I haven't had the will to sort it out.

I too found that the default browser does not change it.

if you replace your iexplorer.exe with firefox.exe in the programme files directory will that work?

(If you try it backup the iexplorer.exe if you intend on using IE in the future)

I'm not sure if that would work but it might. Make sure you backup if you try it.

You may need to rename the firefox.exe to iexplorer.exe to make it use it.

I will go try this in a VM.
I think it is going to make something screw up impressively though

hah yeh i had this problem
sorry to get people excited by thinking i overcame the problem, due to the past tense used in the sentence, but the way i over came the problem was actually by getting a virus on my comp, reinstalling windows and just having IE for everything lolol

Doesn't it work like this because Firefox doesn't handle Hotmail, except on its paid service?

This doesn't solve the problem. I have tried it before, but it didn't work.

It works now, but I have no idea why. All I can recommend is installing Windows Live Mail.

That solved the Firefox problem and I now have much faster access to emails. It will sync on multiple computer too.

By the way, don't try installing the Release Candidate of XP Service Pack 3 when you have Windows Live Mail installed.

It makes very bad things happen Trust me.
