Hey. I'm relativly new on these forums and i have a problem which i need solving. Whenever i download Java from www.java.com it doesn't work. For example when i have downloaded the file and pressed 'Open' a box appears for about a fraction of a second and disappears. I don't know what to do. I mainly use Java to play an online multiplayer game called Runescape. Also whilst on the downloading screen i noticed that the ActiveX control does not appear and i cannot download J2SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 2.

I have taken a few print screens of the problem.

Try uninstalling it completely via control panel>add remove programs, then install it again.

Also make sure you have all windows updates installed.

Is windows fully up to date?

It is a browser problem so upgrading to IE7 if you are not already will probably sort it.

Add java.com website to your trusted websites in internet options, also try turning your firewall off for this download.
