Hello how can I redirect a web page in Internet Explorer 7 to a local web page on my computer using the Windows Hosts file? I do not want to redirect it to a IP address though. If its not possible could anyone please suggest a different way of doing this?

Thanks...

Do you mean so that anyone trying to access that page fails? Why not use the address 127.0.0.1?

127.0.0.1 www.shef.ac.uk

in c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts will make that page fail. You will need to give yourselves full control over the file first.
