I am having a problem with my internet explorer... it wont work!! This all came about when i download SUPER Antispyware and scanned my system. 173 files came up to quarentine so I did. Once I quarentined them my internet explorer stopped working. I then restored the files back which didnt help. I then system restored back to before I installed superantispyware and my internet explorer is still not working. I can still sign in to msn so there isnt a problem with the internet connection. I have then installed a newer version of Internet explorer incase i was missing a file or something but it still wont work!! I need to fix this problem by wednesday..... are there any suggestions you have... does this sound like a virus or have i done something when i quarentined those files even tho i restored them

When i try and use internet explorer it directs me to Support Call

warn - Error 12029 connection to www.microsoft.com: A connection with the server could not be established
warn - Error 12029 connection to www.hotmail.com: A connection with the server could not be established
info - FTP (Passive) Sucessfully connected to ftp.microsoft.com
info - HTTPS Successfully connected to www.microsoft.com
error - Could not make an HTTP connection

Sounds like a viral program to me..

Get something like Ad-Aware and scan your system, see what comes up. If that doesn't work then try and get FireFox from a friends computer. If FireFox doesn't work then its a port problem perhaps. Make sure you know its Internet Explorer before making and mistakes! =)

i have always had problems with IE most the time beacause of java/flash not working when i switched ti firefox i thought my mum had upgraded the internet to x4 what it was and everything works fine

FireFox is faster than IE, safer than IE and is compatible with about 99.9% of websites. Theres little reason not to use it. It will also help identify the guys problem whether its IE or connection settings for browsers.

FireFox 3 now has everything you could really want, unfortunately some things have to be downloaded.

well if he can get on here then he can download it from where ever he is and save the setup on a usb switch pcs and install and then see if it works and say goodbybe to slow annying IE

thanks for all your help.... i have tried reseting internet explorer but that didnt work... is ad-adware an actuall program?? where do i get it from i am really scared to download any other programs from the net

also i kinda have to stay with internet explorer as this is not my computer so i really need to try and get this working if possible

If you think you have malware/spyware/virus follow the sticky topic at the top of the virus forum and start a new thread there.
