Hi, long time no post here.

I am having a problem with my IE7, running on Vista. I can browse the internet fine, then all of a sudden i'll click on a link and nothing...

The loading bar is at the bottom of the screen and i get the annoying message, "website found waiting for reply" No matter how long i leave it, i have left it up to a couple of hours it does not appear. The most infuriating thing is that it is only my web browsers that don't work. (when this happens firefox also fails to run) However, my msn messenger still runs, connected and i can download music of iTunes so its obviously not a connection problem.

I have tried disabling and enabling various add ons but to no avail.

The last bit of info is that it seems to be completly random, somtimes i can browze for a couple of hours and nothing will go wrong then another time it will only last 5mins. The only way to get it working again is restarting the computer, this tempoaraily repairs it.

Sorry for the long winded message, just trying to be as detailed as possible, please ask for any more info.

Thanks

Is it the same link or various links that you can't connect to?

Everything, the whole browser ceases to function, not only that but other web browsers, safari and firefox dont work either when this happens.

Prior to this suddenly happening they all run fine. I'm baffled.

You did update to IE8 right? Check for windows updates. Do you recall anything changing just prior to having this problem? i.e. adding antivirus software, updates, hardware, visiting an unknown/ suspicios website, etc???Anything!
