| They are two browsers made by two different companies. Firefox has about 8 to10% market share. Internet Explorer (IE) has about 90%. Before Firefox came along (IE) hadn't been updated for years, but since Firefox introduced new features (liked Tabs) then Microsoft decided they should too.IE has more security holes because people can use ActiveX controls to potencially do bad things on your computer. (Depending on your IE settings and what patches you've applied). Firefox doesn't support ActiveX controls so it doesn't have those security holes. However, if a site uses a lot of ActiveX then it won't work with Firefox. Most sites don't use a lot of ActiveX.In my opinion, Firefox is a lot better than IE. |
