My b/f was telling me something about it, but i didn't understand him clearly, so can you guys help me? Thanks in advance. Manda. An example of teh code i'm talking about is 192.168.3.47:15871 Last edited by Push : 16th Jul 2007 at 04:55 AM. Reason: Additional information. |

| They are hard to find. I'm at "school" in teh summer we just have to show up. No work involved. Anways I can't find any that work, and by "pinging" it would be easier except it won't let me and i'm looking for a way to get to work. |

| Is this your PC? If not there is very little you can do if you don't know the URLs of any working proxys.

| Pinging is when you send packets (signals) to a host (website). Every computer has an IP, which is basically its 'address' (IP address) on the internet. In reality, MySpace's address is 216.178.39.16, but when you type myspace.com, the browser recognizes it automatically. Software that blocks sites mostly only blocks URLs, so it doesn't see a problem when you type in IP addresses. So, typing this into your browser may work: 216.178.39.16 Cheers ;) EDIT: You gave 192.168.3.47:15871 as an example. 192.168.3.47 is the actual IP, and :15871 tells it to ping port 15871. Ports are different 'openings', through which you can communicate with the IP. You shouldn't worry about them for the moment, as the pinging software automatically searches for open ports. | ^ I typed in 216.178.39.16 and its blocked. So time to spend some time looking for proxies, that get blocked the very next day lol. Unless there is another way, that is. |

| This is probably going to be difficult, because the site blocking software thing is really strict. Proxies are the only other way I can think of, unless you know how to hack into an admin account and uninstall the software, but that may be going to far. I don't know what school you're at, but I managed to hack into several admin accounts at mine without getting into serious trouble. It should be relatively easy. But then again, you shouldn't really try that unless you're sure you won't get in trouble. So, yeah, you decide. ;) |
