I have tried!; I have really tried to search this forum for a similar problem/thread and there are some, but they all have different os, or different IE versions, or different connections, or whatever. That and I keep getting lost in this log or that link and I am seriously confused! PLEASE HELP!!
the problem: Another pc in the house has the problem of 'IE cannot display web page'. Yes the connection is there (access to online poker and weather programs), but IE7 refuses to surf. I have reset IE settings from the advanced tab of internet options, restore advanced settings from the same place, been all through the dialup settings in the connections tab, and disabled the phishing filter in advanced settings. Even though I have my isp's address typed in the Home window of the internet options, it still jumps to go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=74005 whenever the browser is opened. Here are some basics from that pc: Microsoft Windows XP, Home Edition, version 2002, SP2, AMD Sempron processor, 3200+, 991 mhz, 448mb of ram hard drive (c:) has 57gb of free space with a total size of 67.4gb If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. |
