Default Linux: unable to replace "ps" command?

my ps command was not working properly, I was told to replace it with a working copy from the same OS version, I copied the same but not able to replace the existing one, says [root@express bin]# rm psrm: remove write-protected regular file `ps'? yrm: cannot remove `ps': Permission denied

what do u mean when you say your ps command was not working properly? Did it give some errors when trying to run it? Can you be a little more speicfic?Check the file permissions for the ps command, it should be 755.
