What linux os was it? If it was Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Edubuntu...etc. you can just connect it to an ethernet connection and go into your restricted drivers menu and let it do work from there.

sorry its linux Ubuntu

i was up all nite trying to install this driver, tryed everything i could think off i even burned some help files off and followed them but got stuck half way tho again.makes no sense to me specially when the help file says install dlk something liek that..but it dident tell me how or were the file is

reason am using wireless is because we have 5 pc's around the house brother's and a sister were all wireless apart from the main pc so i would have to take my pc to were the router is (alot of messing about) but i will 2nite and try it that way.. one last go

thanks

Welcome to Ubuntu.

To get it running you will likely have to follow a 14 step tutorial about using the terminal and ndiswrapper. Hope you have the driver on a USB flash drive that's recognized, and a hell of a lot of patience. I didn't and started up Boot and Nuke within 20 minutes.

This is just one of the issues that plagues all distros and keeps them from having any noticeable impact on consumer OS choice. The developers have more use navelgazing and creating advanced features than enhancing usability because all the people that use them already know how to do this stuff.
