well, i pre-ordered a pandora last week, set me back 200 but it should be worth it. First off what is it? well it can be perceived as two things
1. a umpc, running linux and packing a punch with its 600mhz arm cortex cpu and dual sd card slots (possibility for raid!!) it will run most if not all apps out there for linux with ease with a full qwerty keyboard and touch screen its the umpc that fits in the pocket (there should be a void in your pocket where 200 pounds used to sit).
2. a gaming machine, much like the psp or a nintendo ds the pandora is a portable games paradise with dedicated gaming controls. As the most powerful portable gaming gadget on the market to day it can emulate many of your favourite platforms and play native linux games such as quake, open arena and tron! . speculated emulators that will be ported are playstation 1 , sege dreamcast, sega saturn, all gameboys aswell as many, many more.
why did i buy it? meh, why didnt you buy it?!?!

secondly i think its time to adress the "What linux is best?" question that i have seen knocking around the internet in unhealthy volumes

this question relies entirely on context. what linux is best for what purpose? speed? useability? lower resources?
there are no "best" linux distros out there, just some that out perform others in certain areas.

for me the list is as follows

useability - ubuntu, suse, mandriva, mint
speed - arch linux, gentoo
stability - slackware

most distros out their are taylored to specific needs, some try to be generic all rounders and do a damn good job doing so. while others aim at niche markets, sutch as forensic investigators.

its all down to oppinion, for some people they dont have an oppinion and wish to follow other peoples by the letter without forming their own, to these people, i suggest you join my cult and do as i say!

lastly today i will ramble about sh!t3crosoft
while most foss (free open source software) users will detest bill gates, i cant say i do. i like the man -while i may not like his actions- he humors me with his ability to laugh at him self. the videos produced by bill and balmer (a nutcase by any standards) are brilliantly funny and put some fun into the suits and cigars of the big boys at the redmond giant.
this is my personal favourite
