Vista is still better for gaming though, but I suppose for Dave, as you've said yourself you don't game, that doesn't apply to you.

I just wanted to see what everyone was going on about, but, I like Windows just fine and I saw moving to Linux as going backwards, not forwards. {shrug}

it really is a matter of oppinion. i prefer linux over windows because not only is it free, it is very versatilve. i use linux for web development, programming, internet use and graphic editing and it does a far better job than windows.
windows for me is a luxiorius jail in the heart of bsod land |

Linux has many pros, aswell as Windows having many pros and cons. Linux I find is a fun and usable however lack of gaming support does dampen it.
Windows is less fun and it can feel like you are trapped, yet more game support does draw me in as I do game :D |

Don't play games so Linux seemed perfect, just found it so hard to get working, drivers etc. And I consider myself pretty PC savy. They need to streamline the install for the mass market if they want it to really take off.
