What are some safe tweaks that I can use under Ubuntu, short of compiling my own kernel (which I have never done.) I have a Sager NP8660 laptop with a P8600 processor and a 9800m GT. I figure I'm not getting the full potential out of my Ubuntu install right ...

This a redesigned version of Ubuntu called Super OS or Super Ubuntu. It comes with a bunch of tweaks and can be modified. http://hacktolive.org/wiki/Super_OS.
As for compiling your own kernel i cant really comment because I have never done it. Though i have thought about giving it a go. |
