I was wondering if there is any Linux flavor that will teach me how to run linux how do commands or if there is any program that will teach me? I am using ubuntu and I want to be able to install tar and rpm and such with ease because everytime I get advice there there seems to be some other thing I have to do and such and all answers seem to be diffrent.

have a look for walkthroughs on google? theyre usually pretty good, and 'dumb it down' if you like, to make it easier for people that arnt fantastic at linux (eg me) to understand.
